My main reason for being a BBS User is to read what other Users write about
problems they have, and reading what help Users with more experienced write
in their replies about it.
I'm a bit more knowledgeable about this here computer stuff that I was
back in 1984 when I bought a Floppy Drive instead of a Cassette Drive when
I got my Commodore 64 pc.
The day I got the C=64 and 1541 I bought a pack of two 5.25 inch Floppy Disks
so I could Save some BASIC Programs I typed in from Popular Electronics or
Radio-Electronics magazines.
I failed every time I try to Format one of the disks, even though I typed
the NEW command exactly as it was printed on the page in the 1541 book.
It may had been over a week before I got one of those Disks Formatted,
and that only happened because Commodore included a Utility Disk with the
FDD.
I knew enought that I could LOAD and LIST the Program Files that were on that
Disk and while I was reading the listing for the program to Test the 1541 I
noticed it had a line with the NEW Command in it.
I Ran the Program and followed the instruction to insert a Blank Disk.
After the Test finished I learned my floppy disk had been Formatted and
I could finally Save what I typed in to a Floppy.
It was many Months before I figured out that I was suppose to use the
OPEN 15,8,15 Command that was at the beginning of the 1541 book before I
typed NEW to wake up the FDD so it would Format a Disk for me.
And of course type CLOSE 15 to tell the 1541 I was done using the NEW Command.
Speaking of "patterns".
I met a man at a Electronics Parts Store who told me he worked for a Hotel
and serviced the Television Sets there.
When the Owner needed to buy new TV Sets he would buy the same TV Set model
for each Room in the building plus a few more so his technician could
replace the Set that needed repairing with one that worked and take the Set
that failed to his shop.
After a period of time the tech saw that the same part would be the cause
of the Sets to fail.
When he went to the Parts Store he would buy enough of that component to be
able to fix that faulty TV Set, AND to be able to quickly fix the next bunch
of Sets that would need the same repair job.
That sounds like something You would probably do too.

I've read about overclocking the CPU.
The closest to overclocking that I've done is to upgrade the 486DX33 CPU on
the Motherboard with a 486DX2-66 CPU the Tech who built the computer for me
gave to me after he upgraded his own computer to a Pentium CPU.

It was about 1961 when I went to a Movie Theater to watch a Gladiator Movie.
It was the first Gladiator movie I ever paid to watch.
I can't remember if I stayed to watch the entire show, but I never paid to
watch another Gladiator Movie.
