I keep trying to 'clear the decks' to provide time for things on the following
day.  I am actually still trying to get to a job scheduled for the middle of
last week.

I'm not really sure but I think that effect is a side-effect of their webcams.
In some "how-to" YT vids I find it downright annoying.

Ah.  What I was using for plain downloading and what would suit that task is a
tool called SimpleScreenRecorder.  (All one word.)  It's a Linux app.  The name
is misleading.  It is very much not a simple tool but it is very easy to use.
I used it tonight to pinch the middle section of a three-part YT video; e.g.
editing on the fly.  That one and part of a Major Payne vid.  :)
