I read, many moons ago, that taking the W10 upgrade route and NOT reverting
to the previous version of windows with the 30 days grace MS zapped the recover
y
partion and replace it with a W10 version.
So, does " I recently bought an HP laptop with Windows 10 reinstalled" mean
that it was originally W10 and W10 reinstalled from either the recovery partiti
on
or from a purchased W10 licence, or was upgraded from a previous version
of Windows? Either way I think you are stuck with W10.
The reinstallation of Windows from the recovery partition is an acceptable
way of "cleaning" a PC before disposal, as opposed to using a degaussing
hammer on the hard disc(s).
