GM Jean OC. It's morning here too at -5C. We have had a quite mild
winter so far this year. Only in week 1 we had three days with -10 to
-15C. Other than that the, temperature has hovered at single figures
above and below freezing.
Weeks two and three brought 40 cm of snow. The sad thing is that my car
wasn't usable, to go to the ski center, because the AC blower ceased to
work, and as you know, driving a car without a blower to keep the inside
of the windscreen free from frost in the winter, results in having to
stop every few hundred meters to scrape it off.
The reason the blower fix was complicated, by the trouble to find a
replacement. That ended by replacing the motor only, in the old housing.
The snow we had has disappeared, and been replaced with a centimeter of
white fluff, that started as sleet last week.

It has been noted :o)

That would have been the best choice, but with the exception of a few
things. First, I didn't know the various back-up and cloning programs to
use. I did recall a discussion with OM Tom about a cloning program that
happily made a clone, but wasn't able to recover it, if not registered.
Before doing anything with the machine i made a recovery file on a a 8Gb
USB stick.
I had the Acronis TI9 for my XP laptop, but it refused to work in Win10.
On magazine CD's I had the Easeus and Macrium programs. I installed the
Easeus programmes and made a full backup of the HD, but didn't risk to
make a clone, with unknown replacement function.
Break........
Now, at 11:25 it's only -0.5C and the sun is coming through the mist.

All this would have been good to have known, B4 installing all the
programs I'm going to use. They were all installed to another partition
than the boot prtn, except Opera that refused to install on anything
else than C: .
After that I made a new backup, ran Cclean, downloaded the en-UK package
from M$ and let it be installed as per choice, made on screen B4 dwnld.
Still, the machine does talk to me mainly in swedish, except for the
opening screen showing the weather and other choices in english.
But the choices offered on the left when clicking on the lower left icon
are still in swedish.
Next step will probably be to let M$ install the en-US package and see
if it would also change the "display language" to english, under the
"Settings/country/language/time and ..." choices. Since I removed the
swedish language alternative, that is still missing in the en-UK choice.
JP> Remember that a clone will allow you to, after the fact, move any

Yes, that's what I would have done if my reegistered TI9 would have
worked under W10.
JP> We are having fun ! All fine wishes.
Yes, we are. Same to you.
CU AGN,
Holger
