I have no idea on that, but I see that you have another answer that

I was not aware of that, and thought that they were a reputable brand.
My system has a WD drive, as installed by Dell.  Best I can advice is to
do some online research using Google, and/or checking some forum
discussions, such as www.xpforums.com .

I like to sort on CPU usage so that I can see exactly what is using the
process time.  That amount of CPU usage might well be pretty normal
given your system.   Again, you might be well served to look at the
forum I mentioned for help and advice from a larger audience with more
direct experience.
