I had forgotten about that. Now I always use lower case so as not to get
caught by that issue somewhere or other down the line.

Yep, I have found all of max/squish/sqafix to work quite nicely 32
bit wise. On the amd64 I seem to have some problems. I did telnet
into my own max board a couple of times but never did get it going
remotely so I could go live with it.

I miss the 'b' command from max's message menu, I don't think any
other package has that kind of functionality.

Having the free time is tough to do I know. I've been staying
away from the muffin echo b/c I don't want BS coding BBS stuff
when he should be studying/resting. We'll get there I'm sure
when the time is right.
