People have been doing it, maybe since 2004 or 2006.

Deuce had that bbs dosbox page and i zipped it and uploaded it to vert.
I thought the page was down but it's back up.

I wouldn't recommend running a bbs on it if you want decent file transfers.
With my experience there were problems with xfers.
