Well Pumpkin, they had their chance to codify this years ago... They could have passed a law through congress that would have taken care of this... BUT they wanted a wedge issue more than making it permanent.

There is a cottage industry of people having birth in the states so that that child becomes an anchor baby and they use it to get the family in.
I am not sure the way the left has viewed Birthright citizenship will be the same in the months to come.

I did shoot Trump a message on X ... If he's in negotiations with Canada that he should trade 2 US liberals for 1 conservative Canadian... I haven't heard a response yet.
