Kathy originally said that "All NYers will get $300 checks," but everyone I know only got $200. And like you said, after filing taxes, a good chunk of it will go back to the state anyway. So that $300 check turned into about $150.
So when re-election time comes around next year, I guess we're expected to vote for Kathy because she gave us $150.
