It's never as hard as they think.

But first they have to overcome the fear of leaving their Comfort Zone - which
is hard for pretty much everyone.

But it's worse for these willfull ignorants because they have been told for
decades how smart and intelligent that they are.  To face the idea that they
might not be as smart and intelligent as they believe is painful for them.
