I've just had a look at the FTP site, and it turns out that the ordinary
version of the patch is actually split, by operating system, into lots of ZIP
files.  So you probably wouldn't have needed to download half as much.

I have somewhat ... er ... broader IP connectivity than I used to have.  I just
downloaded all of the ZIP archives (56.2MiB in total) in 20 minutes.  I can
stick them on an LS-120 floppy disc and mail it to you if you want.

Maybe I'll get around to installing the patch myself some time ...  (-:
