have you enabled extended and.or expanded memory in that DOS instance?

i have not... i dropped BASIC when i learned ASM and PASCAL... that was about
the time that Borland's Turbo Pascal 2 for PCs was released... i started there
and went to TP3 as soon as it was released and i've never looked back...
