OK, I want it to look like a HD so I can make backups to it(them).
Apparently I'll have to bother one of my daughters to get it partitioned
and formated. FAT is good enough for me.

I don't trust any magnetic or CD media for long time storage so what
I photograph I do it with film cameras. Even color negatives can be
stored for many tens of years and black and white for maybe hundreds.
