Hi Holger,

My own experience with memory sticks in a Camera was rather disappointing,
however I found a VERY workable solution........;-)

The catch with Memory sticks that look like HD's is that they need to be
formated as FAT or FAT32. The "problem" with this is that the OS/2 FAT32 driver
only seems to work for PARTITIONED media, so you need to PARTITION the Memory
Stick first, however standard OS/2 tools won't let you do this for removable
media devices (such as USB memory sticks).

The work around for this is to use 3rd party tools to partition them such as
DFSEE, and then format them using a Wndwos environemtn (OS/2 FAT32 does not
have a Format last time I checked) however you then run into another issue in
that if you the stick is formatted in the Camera you loose the
partitioning, meaning you have to go through the process again.

A Better solution (IMHO) is to flip my Camera into PTP mode and use the OS/2
program Cameraderie (available on Hobbes) that "talks" natively (IE no specific
drivers required) to the Camera via USB and leaves the Memory card in the
Windows native mode. This works extremely well for me and completely avoids all
the issues I ran into.

However if its just a stick and not attaached to a Camera then you may stil be
stuck with teh other method. It works but I found it rather clunky to get
working reliably.

HG> The MoBo I have sports USB v1.1. I know I could plug in an expansion

Likewise my USB is on a 1.2 Motherboard and it works fine for me.

Cheers................pk.
