I seem to remeber that I had that issue in the past and I am
remembering it had something to do with the "default" open option. If
you right click on the exe or shadow and go to "Open", you should have
2 options, DEFAULT and SETTINGS, and there is a bullet next to
the default, it might have "SETTINGS" selected as the default and I
can't remember right now how to change that.
Also check on the properties under the TYPE tab, it should have
"Executable" under "Current Types"
For some reason this issue rings a bell in my head, but I can't recall
how I dealt with it.
