All PSTN nodes could have DNS entries with the listed host
pointing to the host used by its IP ==> PSTN gateway.
Alternatively you could only list net, region or zone gateways. If the mailer
software didn't find a DNS entry for a particular node it would walk up the
net/region/zone tree until it found a
gateway.
For example if no DNS entry for
"_binkp._tcp.f260.n633.z3.fidonet.net" was found, a search would be made for a
net gateway at "_binkp._tcp.n633.z3.fidonet.net" and if not found it could then
try looking for a zone gateway at "_binkp._tcp.z3.fidonet.net".
Just realised that this option doesn't allow for region gateways as they aren't
included in the node address structure.
Perhaps the first option of giving all PSTN nodes a DNS entry that points to
their IP gateway is the most flexible.
