I totally agree with you here. Whatever solutions we may come up with, current
nodes should be able to keep running without problems.

I used to run OS/2 myself. Switched to Debian/GNU Linux for, well, quite some
years now. Having bort regular modem-access (BBS/Fido), and BinkP.
