Someone sent me a copy of the Z2/Z6 pointlist just after I wrote that. It's
7Mb!  Even if a quarter of the people in it are actually real people then
they're probably worth catering for.  ;-)

I couldn't think of a rationale for including them at the time.  After reading
the spec for the pointlist format documented in FTS-5002, I see it suffers from
the same inadequecies of the FTS-5 nodelist, ie. fields 3 to 8 of the Boss
entry in the pointlist must be a copy of the same corresponding fields in the
nodelist entry unless those fields are left out altogether, etc.

Also, I'd forgotten about the "Point format" lists (documented in FTS-5002)
entirely.

Anyway, points will be allowed!  I'll amend the spec soon.  ;-)
