You can host your own web server locally using xampp. You site may run slow if

My own site is at retroacorn.co.uk which is very simple but works ok and
includes links to bbc b emulators and web access to my bbs which has lots of
door games.

Set up a blacklist to prevent hackers from attacking your servers In my country
blacklist I already have Russia, China and Ukraine and some ip,s  that have
tried a denial of service attack.
