Why register Lord 2? Because your players have gone as far as they can
in the unregistered version and want to continue playing?
"Abandoned".. True, not much of anything has been done to the game in a
long while. Let's take a look at what could be done with it.
Option 1) Fix any known issues. I personally know of none. If someone
can show me a bug, I'll fix it. And no, I cannot fix something in some
3rd party IGM/addon/world.
Option 2) Refine the scripting engine. To do this, I'd need to look at
Option 3
Option 3) Expand the scripts and maps.
Lord 2 is already a very system intensive program. Adding more maps and
scripts would make it worse, but a _lot_ more maps and scripts would
need to be added to make the game attractive in today's market.
"Attractive in today's market".. Lord 2 is a MMORPG. A text based
MMORPG. So, its competing with World of Warcraft, Runescape, EverQuest,
Ultima Online, and many many other games that run better, have better
graphics, have better environments, and, most importantly, many many
more players.
How much additional content would Lord 2 need to be attractive? What
kind of servers would be needed to handle the load that Lord 2 would
create? If all of this was added, would Lord 2 still exist in such a way
that it could be distributed to anyone/everyone to run on personal PC's?

As I've stated many times in the past, Seth had a hard drive crash or
something and lost roughly 1/3rd of the TEOS source. I have the compiled
TPU's but not the source. Since there is no known way to reverse
engineer a TPU, I'd have to rewrite all of that just to recreate what
already exists.
And what would be the reasons for doing that? I know of no bugs in the
game. (No software is 100% bug free, but programmers can only fix what
they know about) Past that, how many TEOS players are there out there?
