It shouldn't take that long anymore..
From what I was told.. Gameport has one guy that takes care of the online
registration stuff as well as managing the reg key generators.. A few days
before the release of 4.07, that guy went on some sort of business trip..
Since 4.07 required new reg keys that also meant a new reg key generator as
well as a need to update the online system.. With the guy (Daniel?) out of
town, no one could update things. Shannon (the support person that mans the
[email protected] address, the same person that gives out updated codes)
had her hands tied and couldn't do anything..
Once Daniel got back in town, he put the new key generator in place, updated
the web system, and everything else necessary to get things in order.
However, there were some growing pains (of which these details I can't
discuss) and it wasn't as simple as just throwing the new generator in place.
Soo.. Daniel goes out of town.. 4.07 is released.. few days pass and then
people start sending in their requests for updated keys.. Shannon couldn't do
anything about it at that time.. Daniel gets back in town, implements the new
reg stuff.. Some growing pains.. Then finally things are back to normal.
If anyone's still having problems, still haven't received their new keys, or
whatever else, PLEAE feel free to contact me directly at
[email protected]
or netmail to 1:275/112
NOTE: You OS/2 sysops will need an updated LORD.EXE and LORDCFG.EXE from me,
so don't hesitate to contact me. (<pascal alert>I can do a filemode := $46;
and dos, win/16, win/32, desqview, and *nix dont mind - they simply treat it
as a $44 which is what I intended yet fat fingered.. OS/2 on the other hand
treats it as a filemode := $2 which is a long way away from what I meant</end
pascal>)
