Yes, I see that too. GoldED was written years ago. It probably compiled warning free on gcc 2.95!

With each new gcc version there seems to be more warnings. It's worriesome.

Yep, these new compilers are fine with new code but older software may suffer if it's not maintained.

Does the pi4 support 32bit software? If so that might work. I have a copy of golded built on slackware that I keep in a safe place in case it's needed.
