Hello Nigel,

I once had openwrt installed on a linksys. Combined with a Motorola Surfboard modem. Worked fine! But that was a long time ago and that old linksys no longer can keep up with the phenomenal speeds that providers offer now.

Other than that: The FTTH technology that they use - XS-GPON - is relatively new and Optical Network Terminators guaranteerd to work with their technology are scarce and expensive. I am not ready for an expensive and risky investment, given the fact that I haven't even decided between the coax and the fiber. Plus that I think a modem/router that supports IPv6 pinholing is not too much to ask even for a provider supplied modem/router. They should fix it! I may discontinue the fiber at the end of the contract in favour of the coax. I have the luxury of having a choice. :)

I wasn't aware of that and I probably will never run into that problem. he.net provided a wonderfull service, but for me it is history. I have native IPv6 since 2016.

Cheers, Michiel
