MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Beer-Battered Fish
Categories: Seafood, Beer, Breads
     Yield: 4 servings

          Oil for deep-fat frying
     1 c  A-P flour
 1 1/2 ts Baking powder
   3/4 ts Salt
   1/2 ts Garlic powder
   1/4 ts Paprika
   1/4 ts Pepper
     1 c  Very cold beer
     1 lg Egg; lightly beaten
     4    Cod fillets; 6 oz ea
          Tartar sauce & lemon wedges;
          - opt

 In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to
 375oF/190oC. In a shallow bowl, combine flour, baking
 powder and seasonings. Stir in beer and egg until
 smooth. Dip fillets in batter; allow excess to drip off.

 Fry fish in hot oil in batches until golden brown, 2-3
 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. If desired,
 serve with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
