I liked the Heath Kits too ... we had a outlet here near Toronto
but they disappeared from here, which is still felt by myself and
few others.

It was a thrill one morning to hear a Heath Kit combo I helped
put together back in the 1960s, still working and still owned by
the original owner  ..His SB401 \ SB301 still was a clear sounding
radio.

The downside, is that with all the bells and whistles, and whatever
the kits are dieing, and my fellow hammies are buying 14000 dollar
radios...which just blew me away when I saw them.    The downside with
this is built-inside self destuct after so many years..and of course
by then there is better radios.  Also more chances of them breaking
down when they shouldn't...and then ...well the repair bills are
outta this world.

  Thats progress ... appliance operators.
