Hi Roy Witt, hope you are having a nice day

PW>> I can't tell what might've been changed and if it's a programming
PW>>trick I'd rather not clear it out until I know how to do it myself.
RW>There's a 'reset' button under one of the covers, perhaps even accessable
RW>via the small door on top.  All you'll lose are those frequencies you've
RW>programmed into memory.  Consult your owner's manual to know for sure.

Yep, little cover on the top. Has the reset w/ a dip switch array.
I can see where having a 0, 3, 5, 8 step would be handy (sat's in
particular) but I'd still like to figure out how they did it.

PW>> Fwiw, the rigs here are a Hallicrafters SX-99 w/ the original
PW>>metal hallicrafters marke tubes and a R-46B speaker, a Hammarlund
PW>>HQ-170 w/ the timer/clock.
RW>Either one of those capable of AM?  I know that was Edmonson's favorite
RW>mode of operation.

Both, the 170 also does ssb.

PW>>Modern rigs are a HTX-202 (2m), TH-25AT (2m), yaesu FT-212RH (2m
PW>>mobile), the IC-47A, and a RCI-2950 (10m mobile)
RW>HTX = Heath Kit?  Don't recall the Kenwood nor the Yaesu... Interesting

Radio Shack for the HTX.

RW>that Yaesu uses FT on you mobile rig and my walkie talkie; FT-708r..

Might be why I have a hard time finding out anything abt it.

RW>10 meter rig here, besides the TS-520, is an HR-2510.

Used to have the 2900 but after the 'puter blew I traded it in
thru RCI's upgrade program. Had I known I'd gotten the 2970 instead.
My only gripe is I like the front panel the 2900 had over the 2950/70.
The 2900 had a led display w/ a *real* swr/pwr/sig meter where as
the 2950/70 has a single big lcd. :/

PW>> Can't find a lick of info abt the 212 for some reason other than
PW>>the mars/cap and a full unlock mod. <sigh> :/
RW>I ran across some old files containing mods for a lot of radios.  When I
RW>come across them again, I'll make a note to look for the 212...

Tnx. What I'd like to do is find out how to reset the xmit back to
the ham band but at the same time unlock the rcv to the 130-173
range. It was last used by a CAP guy and still has that mod in place.
