The geomagnetic field was at unsettled to major storm levels.
A minor geomagnetic storm began at 1800 UT on 14 July.
A major flare occurred at 1003 UT on 14 July.
A satellite proton event began at 1040 UT on 14 July.
A polar cap absorption event is in progress and expected to continue until 1200
