I think /I'm/ a thousand miles from nowhere! <g>  I didn't mean to suggest that
FM repeaters /shouldn't/ be used for DX, but I wouldn't want to have to rely on
them.  I think CW (and perhaps SSB) is probably better suited to DX.  Of
course, there are satellite FM repeaters that have quite a broad footprint, but
they're a special case ;o)
