as there are more 'pool' questions than I'd care to memorize answers to.

Well, back in 1947, real men didn't have to study for tests, they just
knew everything and proved it to themselves.  Today, they're a little
smarter and study the sources given by the FCC/ARRL, to ensure that when
they do get license, they're not complete 'lids'.
