I think any spell checker that you can call externally can be made to work.

It may mention MySpell. Hunspell and it's dictionaries are compatible with MySpell.

I don't have a working golded.cfg at the moment but I think I used these keywords in my config.

SCheckerEnabled Auto

SCheckerDicPath /usr/share/hunspell <- adjust as needed

SCheckerDefLang en_US

You can look up these keywords in the advanced.cfg from the source archive and probably others.
