WvV>BBS_CARNIVAL, For instance, seems a more appropriate area for this...

I totally agree regarding appropriateness.  I considered a xpost there
too.  But I wasn't hooked up to it for a convenient simultaneous copy from
my OpenXP system.  I am still disovering the many features of OpenXP so
there might be a source or a future-related article about that.

This (future4fido) echo seemed like a logical place to announce a "new"
thing like Cheese Burger's reviews on the BBS culture. I think of my post
as an occassional contribution similar to a special entertainment section
in a magazine where related yet interesting information can be found.

Since you have an opinion would you like to be co-mod of this place? <G>
Two heads (er, roving reporters) can be better than one.

What stirred me to post about the BBS REVIEW SORT OF THING was that as I
watched the fellow explore the offerings, I wondered is that all there is
out there?  Is the "future" just a bunch of retro systems?  Is that as
good as it gets?

when he discovers it, maybe Cheese Burger will comment on the nature of
inter-connected BBSes and how they function and the technology they rely
on - FTN, QWK binkp - or some other.
