It is imperative to keep thinking and come-up with new ideas. Along the lines it is equally necessary to grasp which proposals stand no chance of making it and move-on without wasting too much time.

Change/evolution in Fidonet has only happened when "someone did it". So, are you available to work on this, not just propose it, take all the blame and see marc lewis take all the credit?
