It's not stupid at all! It's a very useful tool to test netmail routing, without bothering sysops, and depend on them sending replies. (You take the human factor out of it).

The fidoweb is more about echomail then netmail. But of course netmail will also travel along those "none standard" routes. The more reason to have a tool that can show netmail paths, when it travels these non standard routes...
