ax.25 is such a horrible protocol to begin with! It's MTU is only 256 bytes
which is almost nothing. Add netrom, and now your MTU is 236 bytes... just
horrible! Even at faster speeds, it's just a rapid fire of frames, a
plethra of packets, a disaster of data <G> On another note, it is flexible
enough that you can push quite a bit under it.
