so, now i have checked the modem response settings in raconfig. its
behaving a bit strange. i first tried to get a space in between CONNECT
and 57600 and had to use 2 spaces to make 1 space appear. did not help.
then i tried 1 space and then 2 spaces after RING cause the string i get
displayed in the status window of RA is actually RINGCONNECT57600.
finally with 2 spaces after RING it finally moved on and connected to the
BBS. Very strange. i dont remember that i had to do that back in the 90
:)
btw with 1 space between CONNECT and 57600 in the settings it now shows
the 1 space correct in the status window of RA on incoming call. like
CONNECT 57600. when it needed 2 spaces just a moment ago to show up
correctly. i'm not sure what is happening here, but i leave it the way it
worked and never touch it again :D
But i think continue to let FrontDoor make the connection. It adds to
the Retro Flair hehe..
