I am guilty of sending out messages without tear/origin lines when I first setup golded with Synchronet.
If I am correct (and I might not be) The person I was messaging with was using a stock Mystic BBS.
I told him what I was seeing but never got any feed back about it. I don't think the OP was sure what or why either.

This is what I am thinking but I have no way to know.

It's always a little scary when g00r00 goes silent. I suppose he is busy in RL but I suspect and hope that he will return at some point.
