AK> I have a question about 'tear lines' on messages.  If Digital Man is
AK> reading this maybe he'll have some insight as a long term developer of
AK> FTN-compatible systems.  Or anyone else of course please jump in.

AK> I have a vague recollection of there being issues around "multiple tear
AK> lines" in messages - IIRC it's a topic I saw discussed in the 90s.  In a
AK> very brief search I didn't find anything specifying that there can be only
AK> one tearline, so I could be chasing a false memory here. :)

AK> I'm not aware of any actual issues around multiple lines looking like a
AK> tear line (at least on my system running Squish and Maximus it seems
AK> fine), so I'm not reporting a problem or anything - just curious if there
AK> are technical edge-cases around tear lines in messages as I seem to
AK> remember in the past some people being picky about it.

AK> (I would expect software that cares about a tearline to search for the
AK> line starting with "---" from the end of the message anyway, eliminating
AK> any potential issue.)

Thanks for pointing this out, though there's nothing I can do about it.  My
mailer adds the second one and the first one is just good form before a
signature...
