I remember having a very pleasant phone conversation with Roy Witt about a
week before he made his grand-departure. On the phone he seemed to be much
different than his online persona...

The same thing happened to at least two other Sysops "here", BBS systems. It
was interesting and amusing to access someone else's system not really knowing
that everything was on auto-pilot.
