Hi Eddy,
You wrote on 29.11.02 about "windows fido point software":

Which *possibly* means that one of the more easy Point bundles,
such as APoint, may be the better choice for him.

ET> Why not?
Because:
1. It uses a proprietory message-base for its normal operation.
You appear to be looking for something which uses one of the
"standard" message-bases which you have some experience with.
2. Of more importance, CrossPoint (any of its versions) is quite
"powerful" and has many options available in setting it into
action. It *might* be too confusing for someone who is new to
Point activities.
e.g. Arjen Lentz's The-Box-Point might have been OK for a new
Point; but a combination of Arjen's later Xenia Mailer plus its
associated items would have given such a new Point many problems.

ET> You're using CrossPoint, but I don't know that program.
Maybe your RC, Jan Vermeulen, knows if someone has the suite
locally to you. But here's where versions may be found on the
Internet:-
OpenXP/16 (DOS-16bit) --
http://www.op1.vbox.co.uk
OpenXP/32 (DOS-32bit, Win32, Linux) --
http://www.openxp.com
(the Win and Linux versions, as far as I know, are still in a
Beta stage)
XP2 (DOS-16bit) --
http://xp2.doskey.de
Note: Both of the DOS-16bit versions will work fine under Win9x and OS/2.
TTFN,
Archie
