I know this.  :)  But it's one of those conditions that can creep up on a sysop
without warning.  It's best to make sure the basic configuration file is
'sound' before attempting further fixes, I think.

Really!?!  :)  I don't recall FE ever causing a GPF.  Usually it was me doing
stupid things because of inadequate hardware to run Windows in the first place,
and basically affected mailers and BBS programs.

I just checked an old config file's buffer size and can verify I've had mine
set for 512k for almost exactly the last 6 years - it's dated 22/3/2000.
