Interesting note!

PQ> Thump to forehead!  What version of FE do you have
PQ> there, Mike?  (Are you running patch level #1 to FE
PQ> 1.46?  I.e., does FE's TOSS or SCAN logs report
PQ> version "1.46.1"?)

I have a solution of sorts!

This system gets very few NetMail INBOUND items!  I'd decided to try to operate
in on none.  So if I got one, read it, I just killed it.  Suddenly,I got one I
needed to leave on it for a few days.

Suddenly, the whole grunged message deal stopped!

Seems like, for whatever reason, FE absolutely now has to have at least ONE
read or unread NetMail message that is *TO* the system as 1.MSG in the NetMail
directory!

As long as it is there, fine.

If you don't have it there, disaster!

I elaborated on how some of this might be happening in this latest incantation
of OS/2 DOS-VDM sessions.  However it's conjecture and I cannot prove it at
this point ...
