Here's the latest:

I created a new account (using wcLogin, and the sysop user menu). The new
account logs in fine with POP3 and SMTP. I cannot log in with the new
account using the web -- says it's a bad password.

If I change the password on the new account. I CAN log in through the web,
and SMTP, but POP3 says it's a bad password.

So, I deleted the new account, and created it again. Again, it works with
POP3 and SMTP, and not the web.

I renamed the old account, and renamed the new account to my name under the
old account. I am not getting email through POP3 and sending through SMTP.

The old account still has three days with of old email in it, so I have not
lost the email, which is good. The old account allows me to log in through
web and SMTP (and send email), but I cannot connect POP3 (I get that error
indicating a bad login).

I can only guess as to what might be causing this problem, but it is
repeatable.

(Of note: NONE of my user accounts can log in via web unless their
passwords are changed. I am afraid to change the passwords, as that appears
to break POP3, with the only work-around I have found being to create a new
account -- but that breaks web again.)

Let me know if there is any additional information I can provide, but at
least it appears that I can reliably replicate the problem. Unfortunately,
my server is not really functional until I can figure out the root cause.

Oh, one other thing of note, and I don't know that it is related: when I
run AUP, it breaks wcReports. I get an error that wcvr.dll is not found.
But, it is there in the c:\wc5 directory. When I back wcReports to the
prior version from the backup directory, it works again.
