Other people I knew at the time had the C64, or an Apple 2, or an Amiga...
maybe a PC or Tandy. All of them thumbed their noses at the Vic20 as just
a toy but I was sooooo stubbornly loyal to it because it was just fun to make
this thing do something with 3k of base memory and a tape drive. Countless
hours spent.

When I found out that someone wrote a Doom port; THAT to me is a true loyal
grand-master programmer who used that system to create a work of art.

Lots of Demoscene stuff was impressive too... using undocumented interrupts
and elaborate calls to the graphics chip.
