Hi Ward,

True, he is not from the U.S., he's Canadian.. OOPS my brother has lived in
Canada for about 30 years and so have some of my other family members...
_scratch that idea_.

** Really, Ward, when have I EVER said anything negative about Nick, or even
his software in the past?? You won't come up with an answer on this, because
you know this is not the case, and never has been. **

Perhaps the reason for this whole ridiculous discussion is that Nick's feelings
were hurt when I contacted him about his latest release because one of the
FileGate HUBs had a problem with Nick's release.  Sorry to damage your ego
Nick, as I obviously did.

The full story of that HUB is that this HUB's software, MBSE, will not toss
software that Nick released as distributed because if fails a virus test that
MBSE's internal virus checker uses, which happens to be ClamAv IIRC.  Yes, when
brought to my attention by this HUB in the UK who runs MBSE, I checked the
other files released by Nick and saw other files in the past had the same
problem. And Yes, I asked Nick to send a new release that would pass all virus
scanning tools.

In the midst of hurried Memorial Day Weekend celebrations and preparations I
also admit I sent Netmail to the HUB and cc'd Nick saying I'd ask Nick to
"Clean up this mess".   Oh well.  You may all continue your slamming of Fidonet
people here.

We all know this whole situation was brought on by a false positive for virus
with Nick's files, and I guess there is nothing he can do to change that false
positive?  Meanwhile, when Ben stated he'd contacted ClamAV.Net regarding these
files as false-positives, the shit in here turned to Ben...because he'd rather
wait for confirmation from ClamAV.Net before putting Nick's file on his
system... unreal.

Take care,
Janis
