CP> Interesting.  I looked it up. 48 up to 90 volts DC. Might affect a pacemaker.  Slightly different than our old field phones in the Army.  I think the handcrank generated around 120 volts.  It certainly let you know if someone tried using them while you were splicing a break....

A tech once told me that you can get a jolt when a call comes through.  But that's usually when you're working with bare wires.
