Being a point or not is not the problem. For now, I can use my NNTP
setup from another PC (which I am obviously doing now). However,
it's not a portable PC. But if there was a way to recall my login
credentials, I could then setup up Thunderbird (TB) and NNTP easier
on an alternate laptop.

Even a "recall login credentials" feature via email would be nice.
TB is configured to "always request authentication", but there is no
local file that I can access to decode what the pw is.
With Veleno BBS (the webpoint solution) the credentials are saved in
Firefox's "Saved passwords". That makes it easy to recall and copy
for login on a replacement laptop.
