The DOS version will work fine under Win 98, but if you use the DOS version,
you must also use a DOS based BBS package, or the com port handle will not be
passed properly. I would suggest using Winfossil v1.12 as your fossil driver;
it works great for DOS apps under Windows.

If you want to add telnet to such a setup, you need a special sort of telnet
server, that emulates a modem on a virtual com port. I use Com/IP to do that
for me here.
