Unfortunately, requiring every authour to support every possible platform is
not an option.  It would require somewhere in the neibourhood of 10 times as
much work.  What is required is for the people who care about support for a
specific platform to write the software they need.  That's why we use
standards... it makes it a lot easier for a DOS supporter to write an
application that will handle a specific standard.

Support for a platform has to come from users of that platform.
