That's not exactly the whole story but it's what the owners decided to blame
it on.
The parent company was/is notorious for having a broken system and not fixing
it. They were also very slow to deal with complaints and I'd heard that there
was potential lawsuits brewing (this last part is hearsay).
In any case, I think it's good for all involved to move on to
better-maintained and better-cared-for services. I switched to No-IP years
ago with a paid account and it's worked perfectly for me.
