I had it installed on a Powerbook G4 running OSX Tiger some years back. The
site does say it must run in "Classic Mode" under OSX, which was supported
until Leopard (I think). You shouldn't need a virtual box to run that, and if
you have a PowerPC-based machine, you can't run anything newer than Leopard
anyway.

According to the site, it can be installed on an Intel mac, Unix or Windows
computer using the 68k Mac emulator, Basilisk.

It's too bad no one's really working on it at the moment. It has a Python
runtime environment that looks interesting.

Nope, he releases versions for Windows, Linux, ARM and OSX. It's a really
great package and easy to get networked too.
